Scale is the key to getting it right. Art over a sofa, bed or console usually looks best at about two-thirds the width of the furniture below it. Hang pieces so their center is around 57 to 60 inches from the floor, which is roughly eye level, and leave 6 to 10 inches between the bottom of the frame and the furniture.
