LED spotlights and track lights for accent and task lighting
Spotlights are about putting light exactly where you want it. Use them to highlight a painting, wash light down a textured wall, brighten a kitchen work area, or pick out a display shelf.
This category includes adjustable LED spotlights, track and rail lights, small accent and cabinet spots, and outdoor-rated spotlights for gardens and building fronts. Most have heads that tilt or rotate so you can aim the light after installation.
Beam angle is the key spec. A narrow beam, around 15 to 25 degrees, makes a focused pool of light, which is great for artwork or a single object. A wider beam of 36 to 60 degrees spreads light across a larger area and suits general or task lighting.
To light a picture well, aim the spotlight at about a 30-degree angle to the wall. That reduces glare and reflections on glass. Warm white light around 2700–3000K is kind to paintings and photos.
Check whether a spotlight is hardwired, plugs in or runs on batteries, and for outdoor use, look for an IP65 rating or higher.
