A mirror does two jobs at once. It's practical, for checking your outfit on the way out the door, and it's one of the best decorating tricks for making a room feel bigger and brighter.
This category includes round and arched wall mirrors, full-length floor and door mirrors, sunburst and decorative mirrors, and bathroom vanity mirrors.
Placement makes a big difference. A mirror opposite or beside a window reflects daylight deeper into the room. In a narrow hallway, a large mirror makes the space feel wider. Over a sofa or console table, a mirror works just like art: aim for about two-thirds the width of the furniture below it.
Hang wall mirrors so the center sits around 57 to 60 inches from the floor, roughly eye level. Above a sofa, leave about 8 to 10 inches between the top of the sofa back and the bottom of the mirror.
Mirrors can be heavy, so check the weight and the hanging hardware on each listing, and use wall anchors rated for the weight or screw into a stud. Full-length mirrors leaning against a wall should be secured so they can't tip over.
