Energy-saving LED spotlights, strips and lighting accessories
LED lighting has quietly replaced almost everything else, and for good reason. An LED uses far less electricity than an old incandescent bulb, gives off very little heat and can last for years before it needs changing.
This category covers LED spotlights and accent lights for highlighting artwork, shelves and architectural details, plus other LED fixtures for focused light.
A few terms are worth knowing. Lumens tell you how bright a light is; watts only tell you how much power it uses. Color temperature is measured in kelvin: around 2700K looks warm and homey, 3000K is soft white, and 4000K or higher is crisp and cool. CRI describes how natural colors look under the light, and a CRI of 90 or above makes skin tones, food and fabrics look true to life.
If you want to dim your LEDs, check that the product is marked as dimmable and that your dimmer switch is LED-compatible, otherwise you may get flicker or buzzing. Product pages list wattage, beam angle and color temperature where the maker provides them.
